lyrics

The greatest chefs in all the world had prepared their finest plate
My mates and I knew well in advance and decided to crash the gate
The Scots presented their meatballs and their chef was highly skilled
And being a Scot it's impossible not to be thrilled

CHORUS:
Oh, everyone can relax the Scottish meatballs have arrived
They brought out a bubbling vat the Scottish meatballs were inside
You can try any food, any time, any place, I can say with a great deal of pride
That you never can, never will top the Scottish meatballs

Nate McInnis cried, "They're perfect!" Warren Doss exclaimed, "It's true."
Me, I'm a bit of a skeptical sort, I decided to try them, too
"Never before have I tasted a finer meatball, to be sure
"By God, any man upon sampling them will concur."

CHORUS

Hey now, timmy way now, timmy na ninny na ninny noo
Hey now, gimme way now, gimme na ninny na ninny noo
Fiddle dee di, fiddle dee day, deedle dee deidle dee doo
Na ninny na ninny na ninny Scottish meatballs!

The judge did slowly make his rounds 'til he reached the bonnie vat
At once he declared with a tear in his eye and tip of his mighty hat:
"I egg rolls they were good, and I loved the Spanish rice
"But I'll be damned if the meatballs weren't a hundred times as nice."

CHORUS

Within a few short minutes, all but one or two balls were left
Armed with only toothpicks the crowd seemed ready to fight to the death
When all at once the sound of pipes came from the kitchen door
"Relax, lads," said I, "sounds like the chef has made some more."

CHORUS

Hey now, timmy way now, timmy na ninny na ninny noo
Hey now, gimme way now, gimme na ninny na ninny noo
Fiddle dee di, fiddle dee day, deedle dee deidle dee doo
Na ninny na ninny na ninny Scottish meatballs!

about

Juxtaposers Port Huron, Michigan

Juxtaposers had a heckuva lot of fun serving as the merry pranksters of Port Huron's folk and/or dive bar scene in the mid- aughts. They played what they felt like playing and managed to record one full-length album of their original material. We invite you to break out the silly hats and pour a tall cup of nostalgia for the days of martinis and day-old doughnuts. ... more
